5/15-19/09 - Radar Instructor Training Course

The Essex County College Police Academy is conducting a Radar Instructor Training Course June 15-19, 2009 at the academy in Cedar Grove. To attend this course, an officer must have two years experience as a certified radar operator in New Jersey. The attendance fee is 100 dollars for out-of county officers, and no charge to police officers from Essex County. For further information, please call the academy at (973) 877-4350.

 
  3/4/09 - Radar Tuning Fork Testing
at Traffic Officers Association Meeting

The N.J. State Traffic Officers Association is conducting their monthly meeting on March 4th, 2009, 10 a.m. at the Somerville Elks on Rt. 28 in Bridgewater. At this meeting, the N.J. Division of Weights and Measures will conduct radar tuning fork testing for municipalities from N through Z. The cost is $10 per fork.   Radar Instructor Refresher Training
The Division of Criminal Justice will conduct Radar Instructor Refresher training in 2009 at the following sites:

1/6/09 Passaic Police Academy, Wayne
1/14/09 Camden Police Academy, Blackwood

2/4/09 Ocean Police Academy, Lakewood
3/5/09 John H. Stamler (Union) Police Academy, Scotch Plains
9/23/09 Somerset Police Academy, Branchburg.

The course is conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is intended for instructors whose instructor certification expires in 2009. To register, please visit www.njdcj.org, and click on the DCJ Academy Course Catalog, or call (732) 282-6060.
